What is the best way to trim the drawers in gold? The edging was simple but I’m nervous to attempt the drawers
This is black and gold wave desk!
I would do a white flat base coat over the black, unless u didn’t need to for the top. Top looks great. Then my experience says don’t tape…I always end up with more trouble and touch up and work with tape. I use an angled flat paint brush and freehand it. Usually 3 coats for me with metalics! Let us know what u do and let us see it when done. Looks great so far!
This was it prior to painting. I want to do the gold on the drawers where it is in the picture but it’s small and so nervous about getting it on the black.
I paint the cut outs first (gold) with a small brush and you don’t have to be too picky as when you put your main colour on it will cover any mess. Then I use a small foam roller (I get mine at the dollar store) lightly loaded (black) to do the main part. As long as you don’t overload the roller or press too hard when painting it works fantastic. This is the quickest and easiest way as you don’t need to be so picky and it’s less time consuming. Best wishes. – Ben
If you’re just doing simple lines you might want to try a Sharpie paint pen in oil. They come in fine point and thick.
